Become a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church
During each worship service, the pastor will extend a public invitation for anyone to come forward. He will greet you warmly, listen to you patiently and guide you in your decision.
STEPS to becoming a church member:
Come to the front of the church during the public invitation of any worship service, greet the pastor and present yourself for membership in the church.
Express your desire for membership in one of the following ways:
By Salvation and Baptism-- If you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, have experienced a change of mind such that you hate your past and present sins and now want your thoughts, attitudes, and actions to reflect what is good, right, pure, and holy, and you would like God to forgive you of your sins, to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, and to be baptized by the biblical way of immersion in water as a symbol of your acceptance of Jesus Christ into your life.
By Baptism-- If you have previously received Christ as your Lord and Savior but have not yet been baptized by immersion in water and wish to be baptized as a symbol of your acceptance of Jesus Christ into your life.
By Transfer of Membership-- If you are currently a member of another Southern Baptist church and would like to place your membership with Cornerstone Baptist Church, make your desire known by testimony of your previous acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, your previous baptism by immersion in water and your request for transfer of your membership.
By Statement of Faith in Christ-- If, for any reason, you are unable to obtain a transfer of your letter of membership in another SBC church or you have previously worshiped in a church that was not a SBC church, joining by "Statement of Faith" is your testimony that you have indeed received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, have indeed been baptized by the biblical way of immersion in water and have indeed felt the leading of God to place your membership in Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Your commitment to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will be affirmed by the congregation, and you will be given the opportunity to meet with the pastor and other church leaders at an agreed upon time to give a full explanation of your commitment. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the church. You will be required to take our Discover Cornerstone class in order to become familiar with our church and to get off to a good start.
When all stipulations have been met, the church will vote on your membership at a formal, monthly business meeting.
